Sorry to everyone

To everyone that posted or registered yesterday:

I regret to inform you that our current host’s database crashed and they did not recover our database to it’s full size. The backup we have is from yesterday morning so we still have all data up until then but nothing after. We would like to ask anyone that cannot login to re-register. We’re taking many precautions to never let this happen again. I am really sorry and I hope everyone can understand.

Update: yes, they crashed again(30 minutes after first crash) but this time we were prepared with a backup. We are going to take multiple backups every hour to make sure we are ready. Once our dedicated server is set up on Monday we will be able to run it ourselves. This problem was out of our hands and in the future we will make sure it’s in our hands. Again, sorry to everyone and we hope that you will still use our service.

    Hey Matt,

    Thanks! I can’t believe that they screwed us up that much. We lost over 250+ users and 600-1000 posts to that. We are no longer using their database so we shouldn’t have any problems.

    Those are some Harmful Amounts of Numbers. I’m glad that my account didn’t get deleted. And I hope that all, will get pack on there feet!

    Oh yeah, the reason why they didn’t show up before is because your request was added to that users pending list. Once that user approves it they’re added to your friends and your added to theirs.

    @kayla Thank you, and we might be in the market for a dedicated server if the current company we’re working with doesn’t follow through soon enough.

    For some reason I can’t ‘add’ popeyeschicken as a friend, but ‘aaa’ has the add button. What is up with that?

    And why is there no link to GSFN on the front page? There should be a “Help” button that links there.

    @tom The add button isn’t there because your already on popeyeschicken’s pending friends list. Once approved you will be added as a friend. If denied, you will see the add button again. We will add a way to see your pending requests later on, but we have some other larger priorities right now.

    We will have a help section that has all of the FAQ and answers. Currently the only link to GSFN is on the innovate page of this blog. We will also add a main link to GSFN on the front page of this blog.
